Megadeth Canadian Farewell Tour 2026

It’s time to permanently say goodbye to the touring days of Megadeth, inarguably one of the most iconic thrash metal bands of all time. The band is concluding more than forty amazing years of music, legacy, and influence that will truly be remembered as one of the most powerful relevances in a music genre for a long time. Don’t miss them when they run 12 shows for their Canadian Farewell Tour 2026, the first leg of their international farewell tour, with the last show happening here at Videotron Centre on Friday, 6th March 2026! Frontman Dave Mustaine invites all to their upcoming tour, writing, “Don’t be mad, don’t be sad, be happy for us all, come celebrate with me these next few years,” The sole consistent member of the band’s statement continues, “We have done something together that’s truly wonderful and will probably never happen again.

Megadeth

The formidable discography and musicality of Megadeth have enabled the band to be nominated for the Grammy Awards 12 times and even win one for Best Metal Performance. The band, led by guitarist, vocalist, and frontman Dave Mustaine, is currently made up of bassist James LoMenzo, drummer Dirk Verbeuren, and guitarist Teemu Mäntysaar. Band leader Mustaine is also well remembered as Metallica’s lead guitarist from 1981 to 1983. Since 1983, Megadeth has created sixteen studio albums, with five earning platinum certifications in the US, and has sold 50 million albums worldwide. Their songs remain popular, timeless hits, and they have 5.2 million monthly listeners on the streaming platform Spotify. Mustaine happily recalls their successful career as a band, saying, “We started a musical style, we started a revolution, we changed the guitar world and how it’s played, and we changed the world,” he shared. “The bands I played in have influenced the world. I love you all for it. Thank you for everything.” Now, Megadeth bids goodbye with a final tour to close their journey with fans. They are going to be joined by fellow thrash metal bands Anthrax and Exodus on this Canadian tour.

Guest Performers

Anthrax

Like Megadeth, Anthrax is a part of the Big Four thrash metal bands with Slayer and Metallica. Nominated for the Grammy Awards six times, they have released 11 studio albums and 26 singles that have earned them four gold certifications from the RIAA. The American heavy metal band was formed in New York City in 1981 by rhythm guitarist Scott Ian and bassist Dan Lilker and has sold 10 million records globally since then. Currently, the band has shared that they are working on their highly anticipated twelfth studio album, and this tour brings them back to the stage before its release.

Exodus

Rounding up the solid lineup of this tour is the 25th best metal band of all time, Exodus. Alongside Megadeth and Anthrax, Exodus is also known for being one of the Big Eight thrash metal bands, and they are usually mentioned alongside Metallica as the first bands to initiate the Bay Area thrash metal scene. With five million records sold, the band is also working on their twelfth studio album, making this year a very exciting one for their fans. Together with Megadeth and Anthrax, they’re going to make sure that all attendees have a great time at this concert!
