Bluegrass band from Kunming, Yunnan province, China. The band was founded in 2006 by four Canadian expatriates. They are known for the comedic aspect of their live shows as well as their bluegrass-bilingual folk-punk satire music. Their most popular songs are Bleu diesel, Syndrome du village and J'ai Bu. Their last album, J'ai Bu, is an ode to drinking culture, and is performed with exceptional energy. The band has gained an international reputation, especially among bluegrass and country music fans, who are often fascinated by the fact that the band members are expatriate Canadians living in Yunnan, and by their dynamic stage shows.
It is largely due to her remarkable talents that Marjo, Quebec’s largest front woman, has become a singer with a voice and a presence that has contributed to the success of this group of musicians. Marjo, former lead singer of Corbeau, has won 14 Félix awards including Rock Album of the Year and Female Artist of the Year as well as a Genie Award for Best Original Song. We have had the pleasure of performing many of her songs on the air, songs that have become important such as “Chats sauvages”, “Je sais je sais”, “Doux” and “Impoésie” and now with her album of 2023 titled “Marjo” she continues to dominate Francophone rock.
Jonah Richard Guimond, known professionally as P’tit Belliveau, is a multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter who carries the torch of Maritime culture and traditions through his catchy indie pop music. Born in Baie Sainte-Marie, NS, he plays, sings and writes most of the parts and music on his records. His country songs resonate with many and songs like “Income Tax”, “Les bateaux dans la baie” and “Drivin’ on Empty” are fan’s favourites. He keeps on carrying the torch with his namesake album P’tit Belliveau. He was longlisted for the 2020 Polaris Music Prize for Greatest Hits Vol. 1. He has become quite popular in the Maritimes.
